Michael Ouellette Obituary

Frenchville, ME

On December 2, 2023, after 55 days of fighting to remain with his loving family, Michael P. Ouellette went peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was 73 years old.

Michael was born on May 18,1950, in Eagle Lake, ME to Jean-Paul Ouellette and Odette (Leclercq) Ouellette.

Following his service in the United States Army, Michael met the love of his life Lynda (Daigle) Ouellette. They were married on April 11,1975, in Madawaska, ME. They celebrated over 48 years of marriage, raised four beautiful children, and sponsored over 10 children throughout the years through the Unbound Child Sponsorship program.

Surviving Michael is his beloved wife Lynda (Daigle) Ouellette of Frenchville, ME, Christin Ouellette of Frenchville, ME, whom he cared for at home for forty-three years, Anna (CJ) Theriault of Fort Kent, ME, and Adam (Robin) Ouellette of Madawaska, ME. Also surviving Michael is his future legacy, his beautiful granddaughters Kaylen Avery, Audriana May, Addison Grace, Grace Isabelle, and Faith Olivia.

Surviving Michael is his brother Jean-Paul Ouellette Jr. of Fort Kent, ME, brother Guy (Francine) Ouellette of Tolland, CT, sister Monique (Joseph, d.) Deschaine of Holden, ME, foster sister Rita (Reggie, d.) Thibeault of Bristol, CT and loving nieces and nephews.

Michael was predeceased by his relatives and parents Jean-Paul and Odette Ouellette, his father and mother in law Conrad and Una (Theriault) Daigle, his brother Reverend Richard Ouellette, brothers-in-law Joseph Deschaine, Danny Daigle, Jerry Daigle, foster sisters Jacqueline Paradis and Lydia (Marie) Ring, and beloved son Aaron Michael Ouellette.

Michael was a Roadmaster/Supervisor of the former Maine, Montreal, and Atlantic Railway for 37 years. He served in the United States Army, was a Vietnam War Veteran, and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He was also a member of the American Legion Post 145 in Frenchville, ME for over 51 years where he served as a Post Commander in 1997. He was also a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at the Ste. Luce Catholic Church and served his Town of Frenchville as Selectman for 14 years. He was a philanthropist, humanitarian, and devoted God-loving patriot of the United States of America. His ultimate pride and joy, however, was his devotion to his beloved family.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Michaud Funeral Home in St. Agatha, ME on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. A full military funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luce Catholic Church in Frenchville, ME. Interment will be at Ste. Luce Cemetery, Frenchville, ME, later in 2024.
