Aline D. (Paradis) Marquis, 92, passed away at a Madawaska Nursing Facility on December 29, 2020.  She was born October 23, 1928 to Alfred and Modest (Boucher) Paradis.

She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren so much.  Whenever a great grandchild was born she would hang a butterfly on her wall.  Mom loved to create things.  She was an avid seamstress making blankets for her family and knitted mittens and socks to give to her kids and grandkids.  She upholstered small arm chairs for her grandchildren. She donated her time to the local food pantry and thrift shop.  In her younger years she also volunteered at High View Manor.  In 2018 she received an honorable mention award through the Maine Health Care Association.

She is survived by 8 of her children; Don Marquis, Hope Mills, NC, Linda (Lionel) Emond, Madawaska, David (Joan) Marquis, Biddeford, Danny (Cecile) Marquis, Frenchville, Helen Michaud, Old Orchard Beach, Thomas (Anne) Marquis, Sanford, Lisa Carnevale, Colorado Springs, CO, Sandra Winters, Levant and a son-in-law, James O’Brien, VA; one brother Philip Paradis, MA.  She also leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, Donald Marquis, her son Peter Marquis, her two daughters, Gloria O’Brien and Paula Marquis, two granddaughters and a grandson-in-law, her parents and 15 of her siblings.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha.  Because of the current pandemic, the family has chosen to hold her celebration of life at a late date next year.
