With a heavy heart we sadly share the sudden passing away of Amanda Lynn Haskins at Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, Maine on December 16, 2024, soon after attaining her 36th birthday. She was born on December 11, 1988, in Fort Kent, Maine, the daughter of Rita (Jalbert) and John (Chris) Haskins.
Amanda graduated from Wisdom High School in St. Agatha, Maine and received her Bachelor's degree from Penn College in Williamsport, PA.
Amanda married the love of her life, Simon Gabriel Lavertu on October 31, 2024.
As per Amanda, she obtained her dream job at IDEXX Laboratories as a Technical Support Engineer in Westbrook, ME for the past 6 years. She also worked as a part-time Bartender/Server at Longhorn Restaurant in Biddeford, ME. Prior to relocating to Southern Maine, Amanda was employed at the Fort Kent Animal Hospital in Fort Kent, ME and also as a Bartender at the Frenchville Legion Post #145 in Frenchville, ME.
Amanda enjoyed travelling to Boston with the love of her life, Simon, to attend concerts, Boston Bruins hockey games, Boston Celtics basketball games and sightseeing. Amanda lived a full and happy life. She would light up the room at any function or family gathering she attended. She was a ray of sunshine who had a zest for life and was loved by all that knew her. Her beautiful smile and glowing presence will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Along with her husband, Simon Lavertu of Biddeford, ME, she is survived by her parents John Christopher and Rita Haskins of St. Agatha, ME, her brother Justin (Alura) Stage and her niece Azriel Stage both of Vancouver, WA, her great aunt Janie Lynn Haskins of Clarksville, TN, her sister-in-law Monique Grant of New Jersey, her aunt Tina (Eads) Bollerhey and her cousin Sarah (Eads) Partain both of Alabama, her uncle Kevin (Annette) Haskins of Avon, CT, her aunt Susan (Keith) Dewalt of Pottstown, PA, as well as her uncle James (Louise) Eads and uncle Michael Eads. Amanda will also be sorely missed by her Canadian family who all reside in St-Basile, New Brunswick, her grandmother Marie-Thérese Jalbert, her aunt Diane (Bertrand) Cyr, her uncle Robert (Diane Boutot) Jalbert her cousins Shaun Cyr, Jason (Virginie Leblanc-Breault) Cyr, Andy (Manon Morneault) Cyr, Remi (Emilie Roy) Jalbert. Amanda is also survived by a host of extended family and good friends.
Memorial services will take place at Michaud Funeral Home, in St. Agatha, ME on December 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Also, a Celebration of Life will take place at the Eagles Club 804, Biddeford, ME on January 4, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
