Christian Guerrette

ST. AGATHA - Christian Guerrette, 83, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015, at the Madawaska Nursing Home, after a long fight with cancer.  He was born March 3, 1932, in St. Agatha, Maine, the son of Albert and Bertha (Guerrette) Guerrette.  Christian served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war and was a lifelong legionnaire.  He received the Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.  He served as County Commander, District Sergeant at Arms and Post 145 Sergeant at Arms.  He joined the Frenchville fire department in 1965, was fire chief from 1971-1975.  He worked at Fraser Paper Limited from 1955-1994.  Christian loved to fish, hunt, garden and pick berries.  He will be missed but never forgotten.  His is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Carmen Morneault of St. Agatha; four children, Linda, wife of Philip Dumais of St. Agatha, Philip (Cook), and his wife Sharon (Pelletier) Guerrette of Madawaska, Gatane Guerrette of Chaffee, Missouri and Susan Guerrette of Baie Creuse, St. David; five grandchildren, Robin (Gardner) and her husband David Steinkamp of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Russell Gardner of Missouri, Nicholas, Brittany and Lory Guerrette of Madawaska; one great-granddaughter, Luna Gardner of Missouri; one sister, Irma and her husband Joe Colon of Manchester, Conn; one brother, Gerard Guerrette of St. Agatha.  He was predeceased by one brother Valere Guerrette of Frenchville.  Funeral services and interment will take place in the spring at the Northern Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Caribou.  Arrangements by Michaud Funeral Home.  Condolences may be made to www.michaudfuneralhomes.com
