Constance M. Desrosier
Constance “Connie” Elizabeth Morin Desrosier passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, March 5, 2016. She was born in Madawaska, ME, on March 11, 1930, to Eddie and Nettie Couturier Morin. She was a lifelong resident of Ste Agathe, and is predeceased by her husband, Lucien, a son Maurice, and a granddaughter Saskia; two brothers, John and Donald, and a sister, Jeanne. She is survived by her six sons, Philip & his wife Ruth (and former wife Stella), Robert & Mona, Edward & partner Mike, Dennis & fiancée Carlene (and former wife Linda), Walter & Helen and Bill & Angelika; and her three daughters, Jeanne and her husband Gil, Francine & Guy and Mary & Rich. Her grandchildren Philip, Jr., Allison, Veronique, Natalie, Monica, Ben, Jill, Carissa, Guy, Jr., Chantal, Aimee, Tracy, Matthew, Nicole, Christopher, Adam, Nathan, and Dante; great‐grandchildren Shiva, Dylan, Nathan, Alexandre, Melissa, Reagan, Cooper, and Lyn Lee.
She was the oldest of sixteen and also leaves her brothers Tom (Rena), Leo James (Ida, d.), Edward (Germaine, d.), Mike, Luc (Mary), and Patrick (Bev); and her sisters Natalie (John), Lucille (Norman), Rita (Ray), Simone, Marcella (Dan), and Priscille. Connie also leaves several godchildren, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Connie is a graduate with honors from the University of Maine, Ft Kent, ME, as an English major and worked for many years as an educator and librarian in the St. John Valley area schools. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Valley parish community serving as Parish Council leader, member and Mother of the Year of Les Dames de Ste. Anne, CCD teacher, Lector and Eucharistic Minister. She served and chaired the SAD 33 Board of Education and was also honored by the State of Maine for her outstanding contributions to the community as a civic volunteer. She was Director and Secretary of the Ste. Agathe Historical Society, and the St. Agatha Housing Corporation; Member of the Maine Library Association, St. John Valley Library Association and Maine Educational Media Association. Most importantly, she will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family, her parish and community.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours at Michaud Funeral Home in St. Agathe from 6‐8pm, Thursday, March 10, and Friday morning from 8:30‐9:30am. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Fr. Richard Ouellette at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Valley‐Ste. Agathe, ME. Interment will be at the Ste. Agathe Upper Cemetery. Flowers and masses in memory of Connie may be shared with the family.
