Diane (Ouellette) Berube

Diane (Ouellette) Berube 73, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her beloved family. The daughter of Roger and Augustine (Bard) Ouellette, she was born on June 17, 1952, in Van Buren, Maine.

Diane fought a courageous battle with cancer, maintaining a positive outlook and attitude throughout. Her greatest treasures were her family and her time spent at camp on Long Lake. Her favorite hobbies included cooking, reading, watching the birds, swinging on the screened deck, and shopping on Amazon. In her younger years, she was known as the neighborhood mother, spending many years babysitting the local children. She truly had a heart of gold, always giving of herself to others.

Diane was predeceased by her parents, Roger and Augustine (Bard) Ouellette. She is survived by her loving husband, Gilman Berube of 53 years, sons, Jamie, (Danielle) of Bangor, Maine, and Jeffery of Presque Isle, Maine, daughters, Crystal Berube and Shannon Berube both from Madawaska, Maine, her brothers, Vernon Ouellette (Elaine) of Van Buren, Wayne Ouellette (Lorna) of Van Buren, her sister, Greta Ouellette, her companion, Rodney, of Van Buren, Maine. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kylie, Harley, Victoria, Evan, Alexis, and Blake, and her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Liam, and Amirah.

The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of Northern Light AR Gould Hospital for their professional service over the last eight years, as well as the staff at Northern Light Home Care and Hospice for their amazing care and compassion during her final days.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday May 2, 2026, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Relatives and friends may greet the family Saturday morning 9–9:45 a.m. at church.
