ST. AGATHA – Donald R. Daigle, 81 passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of November 17, 2022 due to complications of Multiple System Atrophy. He was born in St. Agatha, Maine on March 15, 1941 to Donat and Eva (Michaud) Daigle.
Don is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rachel (Dufour) Daigle; daughter Dawn Gagnon and son Peter, both of St. Agatha; daughter Renee and husband Louis Dugal of Madawaska; grandchildren, Isaac Gagnon and girlfriend Shelly Morin; Erin (Dugal) and husband Nate Beaulieu; Kelley (Dugal) and husband Craig Daigle; Jenna Dugal; and great-grandchildren Benjamin Gagnon; Brielle and Josie Beaulieu; and Eve and Cam Daigle, all of Madawaska.
He is also survived by sisters, Claudette Audibert of Fort Kent; Roberta Guerrette and companion Conrad Cyr of St. Agatha; Susan Dubey of North Carolina; and Marcia Zai and husband Dave of North Carolina; and a brother, Michael Daigle and wife Doreen of St. Agatha; a sister-in-law Jacqueline (Dufour) Bard of South Portland; as well as many nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Ronald Guerrette, Lawrence Audibert and Philip Bard; and grandson Jacob Gagnon.
Don served his town as selectman and volunteer firefighter, and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus as well as the local ATV and snowmobile clubs. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Friday, December2, 2022 at St. Agatha Catholic Church located at 379 Main Street, St. Agatha. Relatives and friends may offer condolences at the church from 9 to 10 am.
