Madawaska
Elroy J. Belanger “Bee” 86, passed away May 21, 2018 at a Madawaska Health Care Facility. He was born in Fort Kent on March 2, 1932, the son of the late Louis and Emma (Michaud) Belanger.
While attending high school, Bee worked at the Gatey Theater. Upon graduation Bee joined the Army. Following his service time he returned to Madawaska and began working at Frasier Mill where he remained until his time of Retirement. During this time he met the love of his life Rita Pelletier at the Weber House in Van Buren. Their first dance was to “Could I have this dance for the rest of my life” and they never stopped dancing. The other love of Bee’s life was taking pictures. Whenever you saw him, he had a camera in hand ready to take pictures. Bee was also a 4th degree Knights of Columbus and Legionnaire in which he was very proud of. Elroy had 2 special pets Snowball the cat and Chico the dog who were both very spoiled.
Elroy is survived by his sister Joyce Cyr and husband Gerard of Van Buren, three Godchildren Dan Deschaine and wife Lori of Westfield, Ann Piascik of Van Buren, Kyle Morrill of Bangor, several nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces and cousins.
Elroy is predeceased by his wife Rita who passed away in 2015, three brothers Junior, Venton, Everett, one sister May Louise, a brother and sister in law Yvon and Anita Pelletier.
Friends and Relatives may give their condolences to the family from 9:30am. until time of service at church. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. at the St. Thomas Church in Madawaska Saturday May 26. For those that desire, donations may be made to the Acadian Village in Van Buren, P.O.
