Ferdinand “Nooky” Daigle, JR
May 9, 1940 - July 6, 2021
Madawaska, ME—Ferdinand “Nooky” Daigle, Jr. passed suddenly at his apartment in Madawaska, Maine on July 6, 2021 at the age of 81. He was born May 9, 1940, the son of Ferdinand Sr. and Jeannette Cyr Daigle.
Born in Lewiston, he was the oldest of 6 siblings. He attended Madawaska High School and graduated in 1958. He then entered the National Guards and later worked on the railroad. He later opened his own service shop Automotive Electric where he built his reputation as the go-to man for precision work on starters and alternators. He was proud and extremely particular in the quality of work in which he performed for his customers. To this day, there are many starters and alternators on equipment in working condition.
If he wasn’t working, he could be found at his camp in Lac Jerry. He loved sitting and looking out at the lake while listening to his music. Later, he retired to the Mason Acadienne in Madawaska where he spent the rest of his days. Between his days spent surfing Roku and the internet he’d often find his way to visit his son and grandkids at work. He could sit for hours at their desks watching them work, many times not saying much at all but enjoying being in their presence. Since his passing, many people have said how incredibly proud he was of them and all they’d accomplished.
Ferdinand leaves behind his wife Nicole (Michaud) Daigle, children and their spouses Ferdinand Paul Daigle III and Lita, Kenneth Daigle, Gina (Daigle) Bennett . Grandchildren and spouses Kayla (Daigle) Dionne and Chad, Kurtis Daigle and Kara, Kyle Daigle and Abby , Kaden Daigle, Alyssa Daigle, Troy and Nicholas Bennett. Two great grandchildren Sumit Daigle (Kurtis) and Skyla Dionne (Kayla). Two sisters Marilyn Laferriere and Theresa Cyr. He is predeceased by his parents Ferdinand Daigle, Sr and Jeannette (Cyr) Daigle, his 2 two brothers George “Pit” Daigle and Michael John Daigle and sister Carolyn Gagnon.
