Florence Marie (Ouellette) Martin

Florence Marie Martin, 79, of Madawaska, Maine passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, with her two sons by her side.  Florence was born on November 7, 1945, in St. Agatha, Maine. She was one of 18 children to Denis and Mathilda (Chamberland) Ouellette.

Florence graduated from Wisdom High School in 1964 and moved to Connecticut, where her life began. She was a devoted mother, caregiver and raised her two sons in a happy and loving home to be independent, respectful and thoughtful adults, which made up the entirety of her world. Her homemade pistachio layered pudding cake and macaroni salad were legendary at family gatherings and eagerly anticipated by family and friends. She was the heart of our family with her kind heart and unconditional love and support. She was always there for comfort, encouragement, wisdom and laughter. Florence loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her two sons and four grandchildren. She also donated her time and was a part of “Les Dames de Ste. Anne” from St. Agatha, Me. The ladies, since the early 1900’s, have been serving the Parish of St. Agatha, Maine and are dedicated to filling the needs of their fellow parishioners.

Florence Martin is survived by her two sons, Scott Martin of Eddington, Maine, Dan Martin and his wife, Leslie Martin of Mapleton, Maine. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Brandon, Mallory, Jordyn and Dominic Martin and her two siblings, sister Jeannine Bourgoin of Madawaska and brother, Danny Ouellette of St. Agatha.

Friends and family may gather at the St. Agatha Catholic Church at 9:30 am to give condolences to Florence’s beloved family, following with a mass at 10:00 am on January 21, 2025.
