Frances Martin Plourde, 95, passed away on June 10, 2025, at a Fort Kent hospital after a brief illness. She was born in St. Agatha on March 18, 1930, the daughter of Gilbert and Alice (Baron) Martin. She was married to Reginald Plourde of St. Agatha for 61 years.
Frances is survived by one daughter, Carole of St. Agatha, three sons, Paul and his wife Joyce of Waterbury CT, James and his wife Maryann of Prospect CT, Thomas and his special companion Tricia Meaney of Wolcott CT, three grandchildren, Kristin (Christopher) Krisa, Angela (Christopher) Zmuda, Michael Plourde and one great grandson, Luca Krisa, all of CT. She is also survived by one sister Louise (Clayton) Tardif of Madawaska, as well as several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Reginald and eight siblings.
Frances loved spending time with family and friends. She loved playing cards, playing computer games, and watching the UCONN Women’s basketball games. She was a member of the Ladies of Ste. Anne and occasionally volunteered at the Ste Agathe Historical Society. Her faith meant the world to her and not a day would go by without her listening to her daily TV mass and rosary.
At her request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on June 16th, at Our Lady of the Valley Church in St. Agatha; friends may greet the family at 9:30 a.m. before the mass at the St. Agatha Church.
