Germaine (Lavoie) Tardif

Germaine Tardif went to her Eternal Rest on September 19, 2023, at the age of 94. She was born in Grand Isle, Me. on January 28,1929, daughter of Fortunat Lavoie and Phoebe Thibeault.
Germaine was a loving wife to Valere, loving mother to Brenda, Linda, and Eileen, a grandmother, and great grandmother as well.
She will be remembered as a dedicated cook at Dr. Levesque School. She was also one of the best pie makers for Rosette’s restaurant. When her children were married and on their own, Germaine decided to take up line dancing and was known for her enthusiasm and love of dancing. She also loved to gather at Tim Hortons to meet up with her sisters, brothers and friends. Germaine loved Divine Mercy on Thursday evenings and was a communicant on Sundays at St. David Catholic Church. She was a very dedicated woman and loved by all.
Germaine leaves in sorrow her children: Brenda and husband Tim Biggins from Damascus, Maryland; Linda and husband Bill Doyle from Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Eileen and husband Tom Michaud from Madawaska, Maine. Grandchildren: Craig Slota and wife Anne from Paris, France; Kirk Slota and wife Anya from Seattle, Washington; Stacey Redman and Ira from Washington, D.C.; Daniel Michaud and Kiyoko Shipman from Rockmart, Georgia; Anthony Michaud and wife Melissa from Clinton, Maine. Great Grandchildren; Claire, Elise, Bronson, Alexander, Chloe, Emma, Andrew, and Anna. Her siblings Walter Lavoie, Adrian Lavoie, Elsie Raymond, Yvette Lizotte, Patsy Dionne, and Linda Mercure.
Germaine was predeceased by her husband Valere of 55 years, one sister Irene Tardif, three brothers Leo, Roger, and Roland Lavoie.
Germaine’s family invites friends and relatives at the St. Luce Catholic Church in Frenchville on October 9 at 9:30 a.m. in the back of the church for condolences before her Celebration Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment for family only will follow immediately at the Lower Cemetery in St. Agatha.
