Mom has many nieces, nephews, cousins, and relatives. Knowing that we are grateful for all of our family for years of laughter, playing cards, visiting each other, and so many memories that we are sure mom cherished as much as we do.
Mom loved life. Always humming, singing no matter where she was. We can still hear her singing French songs with our Pepere Gervais. She was a hard worker her whole life—never gave up on life, even while facing Alzheimer’s. She got up early every morning with that first cup of black coffee. She loved playing Canasta Junction with her children, Charlemagne with the family, and Dame de Pique with her sister and losing was not an option.
Mom loved growing plants and flowers, and was really good at it. Another hobby of mom’s was knitting "pied chauds" for the family . She enjoyed it until she could no longer. Her faith in God was strong…and she loved angels. If you asked her, "what are you doing tomorrow," she would say, “I don't make plans.” That’s how strong her faith was, putting her trust in God, Proverbs 16:9, “ The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
She loved laughing, and watching "Seraphin" (an old French soap opera first on radio) and wrestling. Her laughter was infectious. If mom ever gave you a hug, you would always feel like you were suffocating, because her hugs were signs of true love for family. She might not have told you that she loved you, but those hugs were signs of love which will stay with us forever.
She has 14 siblings: Sylvia (D) (Alphie) (D) Roy; Lawrence (D) (Claire) (D) Gervais, Edwina (Joel) (D) Bellefleur of Madawaska, ME; Lillian (D) (Hampy) (D) Michaud; Ronaldo (D) (Thelma) (D) Gervais; Sylva (D) (Geneva) (D) Gervais; Aurella (Gilman) (D) Morin of Keegan, ME; Cecile (Rosaire) (D) Parent of Eagle Lake, ME; Juliette (D) (Louis) (D) Sirios; Berdina (D) (Gary) Blais of Manchester, NH; Patrick (D) (Kathleen) (D) Patricia (D); Lucie (Camille) (D) of St. Agatha, ME; Paul (Ginette) Gervais of Frenchville, ME; and Marie Mae (Roger) (D) Levesque of St. Jacques, NB.
God came down and called one of his angels home. Although our hearts are heavy right now, we know you are no longer hurting. A piece of our heart is broken and hurting right now, but, Mom, you will always be part of us. We love you... ALWAYS!
