Gilmay (Rossignol) Labrie passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018 at the age of 91.  She was a gem of a mother and an outstanding grandmother.  Her energy and humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gilmay was born on May 18, 1927 in Frenchville, the eldest daughter of Fred and Marie (Caron) Rossignol.  She was a lifelong resident of the St. John Valley and over the years, worked for several businesses in the area.  After she retired she moved to La Maison Acadian and lived there for over 25 years.  This was her special home, a home she dearly loved.  She was an avid reader with a deep passion for politics and she strived to keep up to date with all the happenings in the world. 

Gilmay is survived by her two daughters, Dora Labrie and Louise Jalbert; her grandchildren, Ben Jalbert, Dustin Jalbert and Nicole Johnson; her sisters Theresa Levesque and Corine LaJoie; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister Jeannine Rossignol Manson and her brothers Emile Rossignol and Villa Rossignol.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. Luce Catholic Church in Frenchville.  Family and Friends may give their condolences from 9:30 to time of service at church.  Burial will be at St. Luce Cemetery in the Spring.
