Herman D. Roy Jr. (73) a lifelong resident of Grand Isle died June 15, 2024 with his wife Joyce by his side. He was born on June 29, 1950 to Herman Sr. and Leona (Albert) Roy. Herman Jr. was known to his family and friends as “June”. Herman leaves behind one son, Keith and two daughters, Michelle and Monique, three beautiful granddaughters, Kaila, Charlotte and Claire, also two great grandsons Daxton and Callum. Additionally, he leaves a sister Linda, brother Paul, and many aunts, uncles and cousins, plus many brothers and sisters- in-law. He was a forty plus year employee of Fraser Paper in Madawaska. He was an active member of St. Gerard-Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Grand Isle. He was his wife’s number one assistant at the food pantry. Herman could often be found on the wood pile getting his supply of firewood ready for the coming winters. Summer would find him and Joyce on the four wheeler trails enjoying the great outdoors. Herman was one of the few remaining Fur Trappers in Northern Maine.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00am June 24, 2024 at the St. Gerard Catholic Church in Grand Isle. Burial will be in the St. Gerard Cemetery, Mount Carmel following the Service.
