Frenchville, Irene (Hebert) LaBrie passed away at her home on December 21, 2021. Irene was born in Fort Kent, Maine on May 12, 1933, the daughter of Joseph and Virginia (Albert) Hebert. She married Gilman Labrie on June 16, 1953.
Irene was a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Frenchville for over 20 years. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and Frenchville Legion Auxiliaries.
Irene was known for her passion for crocheting. She created a collection of crocheted dolls with crocheted outfits. Over the years, family and friends enjoyed many crocheted gifts. She even crocheted afghans for her patients at St. Joseph Nursing Home. She loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grand children were very precious to her.
She is survived by two sons, Rev. Jean Paul Labrie and John (wife Gayle) both of Fort Kent, Maine, two daughters, Marie of Frenchville and Linda of Medway, Maine, granddaughter, Kristyn (Ryan) Waterman of Fort Mill, South Carolina, grandson, Jared LaBrie-Kirby of Medway, Maine, 2 great-grandchildren, Brady and Brooke Waterman also of Fort Mills, South Carolina.
She is also survived by her in –laws, Yvette Hebert, Anita (Labrie) Ayotte, John (Patricia) LaBrie and Luc (Donna) Labrie and sister-in-law Lillian Labrie.
Irene is predeceased by her husband, parents, her brothers, Lucien and Adrien (wife Laurine) and her sister Lorraine (husband Gordon) Gagnon, three brother-in-laws, Roland, Sylva and Patrick and three sister-in-laws, Theresa Bissonnette, Marie Agne Gagnon and Simone Gagnon
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 13 at 10:00am at the St. Luce Church in Frenchville. Friends and family may give their condolences on Tuesday, July 12 between 6-8pm. at the Funeral Home in Frenchville and 9am. until time of Service at church.
