Irma Landry Obituary

IRMA BOUCHARD LANDRY

MADAWASKA, ME

Irma (Bouchard) Landry, 95 passed away peacefully with her family by her side at NMMC in Fort Kent on January 30, 2023.  She was born in Frenchville, Maine on February 10, 1927, the daughter of Albert Bouchard and Ernestine Michaud. Irma raised her family on Pelletier Road near her parents where the family had a farm and a large vegetable garden from which they sold produce to folks in Madawaska.  She spent many hours working in the perennial gardens with her husband, “Babe” during the years they sold flowers on Cleveland Road after moving to St. Agatha.  Over the years she was very involved in Marriage Encounter, La Rencontre and the Ladies of St. Anne.  She was fond of music and was a member of the St. Agatha church choir.  She enjoyed square dancing, bowling, gardening, playing cards, watching Red Sox games, reading and making jigsaw and crossword puzzles.  She lived a full life and was blessed with a large family and many friends.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and took pride in her family.

Irma is survived by two sons; Robert of Madawaska, Louis and his companion, Joyce Ouellette of Madawaska, one daughter, Doris and her husband Gary Stevens of Fort Kent. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Sarah Landry of St. Agatha, and her companion Michele Ferland, Nika and her husband Lee Day and their two children, Levi and Emma, of Exeter, Maine. Heather and her husband Chris Huston and their two children, Drake and Brynn of Fort Kent, Amelia and her husband Brent Stoliker and their two children Grant and Myles of Fort Kent, Abby Stevens and companion Kyle Daigle of Hermon, Maine, Jake Stevens and his wife Jay and two daughters, Janelle and Jade of New York, Tonya Michaud and companion Andrew Marquis and their two boys, Tanner and Drew of St. Agatha.

She was predeceased by her husband Arthur “Babe” Landry, daughters Charlene Landry and Mary Michaud and one son Rino, a great-grandson, baby boy Lucas Day and son-in-law Richard (Mitch) Michaud.  She was also predeceased by her sister Lorette, wife of Roland Michaud of Madawaska and her brother Albert (June) Bouchard of St. David.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday February 2, 2023, at Our Lady of the Valley Church in St. Agatha.  Friends and relatives may express their condolences in church at 9:30am before the funeral.  Burial arrangements are under the care of Michaud Funeral Home.  Those who may wish to donate in her memory may donate to the Edgar Paradis Cancer Fund.
