Joan Marie Gagnon
Frenchville, ME
Joan Marie Gagnon was born on April 27th, 1939 and was the oldest
of 14 children. She met Jesus on August 8, 2023 due to
complications of a stroke. Joan was never married and made it her
life’s mission to help her parents raise 13 siblings. At the age of 18
she was hired at Fraser Paper in Madawaska, ME where she
worked for 42 years.
Joan loved to read, watch Hallmark movies, and loved to listen to “Ti
Claude” on the Canadian Station. She loved her nieces and
nephews and helped spoil them. Her circle of friends were
retired colleagues from the paper mill. They met monthly for their
lunch celebrations.
Joan will be greatly missed by her surviving family, bothers Louie Gagnon of
Cromwell, CT, Jeannette Gagnon Pelletier and her husband Carroll of New
Britain, CT, Richard Gagnon and his wife Pat of East Hampton, CT,
James Gagnon of Frenchville, Norma Ellis and her husband Larry of
Ashburn, VA, Judy Chasse and her husband Gerard of St. Agatha,
Paul Gagnon of St. Agatha, Lisa Gagnon Bernier and her husband
Paul of Frenchville, Sue Voisine of Frenchville.
Joan is predeceased by her mother and father Lewis and Lillian Gagnon,
Michael Gagnon, Don Gagnon, Rose Gagnon Charente and her
husband Alphonse and John Gagnon who died at birth. Also, her
favorite sister in law Nicole Michaud Gagnon, wife of James Gagnon
and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the High View Manor
Activity Fund. The family would like to repay the great care and
compassion that the staff exhibited towards her sister, Joan.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday
August 12, 2023 at St. Luce Catholic Church in Frenchville, ME.
