Frenchville -- Joel Robert St. Peter, 70, died peacefully on March 20, 2015 in Frenchville of COPD 40 hours after his mother had passed away in the same health center. He was born April 15, 1944 in Guerrette, Maine, the son of Romeo and Jeanne Bouley St. Pierre. He loved to travel, especially visiting family and friends in central Maine and the Amish communities of Aroostook County. He liked their lifestyle off the grid and what they produced. He had a great love for horses. He enjoyed frequenting yard sales seeking out things with engines that he could repair. He had an exuberant personality and loved all people and being of service to others. It made his day when he could help somebody out. He was a former member of the Maine National Guard and the American Legion Post 136 in Stockholm.
He is survived by daughter Janice and her husband Randy Dumais of St. Agatha; two sons, Paul St. Peter of Frenchville and Joel Bertin St. Peter of Van Buren; two granddaughters Desiree and Danika Dumais of St. Agatha; three brothers, Roger of East Millinocket, Me; Russell and his wife Theresa of Sinclair, Me; Romeo and his wife Betty of Carmel, Me; four sisters, Alberta and her husband Jacques Hebert of East Millinocket, Me; Barbara and her husband Carl Freeman of Plainville, Ct; Bonnita and her husband Gerald Blair of Fort Kent, Me; and Brenda St. Peter of New Britain, Ct.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Raynold.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated along with his mom at 11:00 a.m. Monday March 23, 2015 in St. Agatha Catholic Church with Rev. Kent Ouellette officiating. The reception was held at the Cross Lake Senior Citizens Center. Burial will be in St. Euthrope Cemetery in Cross Lake in the spring.
