John Marin Lagassé
St. Agatha – John M. Lagassé, 74, died unexpectedly July 12, 2022, at home. He was born June 19, 1948, in Eagle Lake, ME, the son of Armand and Leonie (Marin) Lagassé.
John graduated from Wisdom High School, Class of 1966. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After the war, he married Francine N. Soucy, and they settled in St. Agatha. They celebrated 46 years of marriage last November. John was a loyal member of the local VFW Post and he retired from Twin Rivers Paper Mill where he was an operator in the Bond. He also had his own Plumbing and Heating company and was the infamous “Stock Boy” at Francine’s Pools and Spas.
John was predeceased by his parents. Surviving in addition to his wife, Francine (Soucy) Lagassé, are his daughters, Renée Pineo and her husband, Brandon, of Little Compton, RI, Jill Lagassé, and his son JasonLagassé and his wife Valerie Perreault, of Bethel, ME; one brother, Paul Lagassé and his wife Rose, of Auburn, ME; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a loving community.
Johns wished for a private celebration of his life, thus no services of remembrance will be held. John will be cremated and will be placed at his final resting place with his parents at the Lower Cemetery, St. Agatha. Those who wish to remember John in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the St. Agatha Public Library.
