St. David at Fort Kent

 

John D. Morin, 71, died March 18, 2015 at a Fort Kent health care facility surrounded by family.  He was born October 2, 1943, in St. David, son of Eddie and Wellena (Fongemie) Morin. 

John worked for the Madawaska School Department for 18 years as a bus driver/custodian.  In his younger years, he worked in farming, which he loved.  He was a member of the Madawaska Fire Department for 44 years and was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.  John worked hard and liked having fun.  He enjoyed cutting wood, gardening, and playing cards. He loved being with family and friends, especially his grandson. 

Surviving him are his loving wife of 49 years, Claire (Collin) Morin, his two daughters, Bertha Morin and her husband Charles Ouellette of Clinton; Cindy and her husband James (Jay) Daigle of Sinclair, and one grandson Jacob Daigle.  He is also survived by 7 brothers, Tom and Edward of CT., Leo James of St. David, Mike of CT, Luc and Patrick of Madawaska; 7 sisters, Constance Desrosier of St. Agatha, Nathalie Cunanne of CT., Lucille Martin of St. David, Rita Donohue of MA., Simone Morin of GA., Marcella Ouellette of Milford, and Priscille Morin of CA; a large extended family and special close friends.  He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Donald Morin and one sister, Jeanne Morin. 

Calling hours will be at Michaud Funeral Home in St. Agatha on Monday March 23 from 6:00-8:00pm. and Tuesday 8:30 am until time of service.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated March 24 at 10:00am. at the St. Agatha Catholic Church with Rev. Eddy Morin officiating. Burial will be in the St. Agatha Lower Cemetery in the Spring.
