In Loving Memory of Lorraine (Levasseur) Dumont

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorraine Dumont, of Madawaska, who left us peacefully on April 1, 2025, at the age of 90. Lorraine was born on August 30, 1934 in St. Joseph, New Brunswick, to Delvina and Victorie Levasseur. From an early age, she was known for her resilience, generosity, and an unwavering work ethic—qualities that defined her throughout her life.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lorraine found her greatest joy in her family. She was always ready to help anyone in need, never hesitating to lend a hand or a listening ear. Some of her favorite pastimes included strawberry and blueberry picking, and she especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which brought her endless joy.

Lorraine’s love, strength, and spirit will remain in our hearts forever. Though she may be gone from our sight, her presence will always be felt in the lives of those she touched. Lorraine is survived by her beloved children: Gerard Dumont, Luc Dumont, and Donna Cyr and her husband Eric Cyr. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Jennifer Dow, James Dumont, Joshua Dumont, Matthew Soucy, Travis Soucy, Coreen James, Brittany Jamison, Bailey Dumont, Breanna Dumont, Chanelle Martin, Daniel Dumont, and Ashton Cyr. She was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren, who brought her pride and happiness in her later years. Her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on through each life she touched.

She is also survived by her brothers Gerard Levasseur, Fernand Levasseur and sisters Annette Daigle, Rachelle Gervais, and Marie-Ange Chagnon.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Ann- Marie, Renelle, Lucien, Rosaire, and her beloved daughter, Carole Dubuc, son Maurice Dumont Jr. and her daughter in law, Claudette, whom she now joins in eternal peace.

There will be no services at Lorraine’s request, family will gather privately in honor of their beloved mom.
