St. Agatha—Marcel Cyr, 68, passed away on September 10, 2024, at a Caribou heath facility surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick on July 17, 1956, son of the late Claude and Theresa (Martin) Cyr. He worked at Fraser Paper for 33 years until his retirement.
Marcel was a devoted husband and father who dedicated his life to his family. He was humble and a hard-working father who would give the shirt off his back. If he wasn’t hunting, fishing or playing pool then he was outside working on a project. He will be remembered most for his work ethic, quick wit, and sense of humor. His knowledge and wisdom are things his family will cherish forever. Marcel was our hero who will live in our hearts forever.
Marcel is survived by his wife, Jeannine (Michaud) of 46 years, three children; Michael and his wife Kelly of Greenville, New Hampshire, April A. Bouley and her partner Peter Belanger of Solider Pond, Maine, Melissa and husband Daniel Richmond of Holt, Florida, eight grandchildren; Alicia, Hunter, Isiah, Alektra, Carly, Michelle, Leah and Dominic; four sisters; Jeanne D’Arc Bosse of Baker Brook, NB, Mae Rita and Herby Morin of St. Joseph, NB, Rose Marie and Euclide Belanger of Windsor, Ontario, and Juliette Lagace and her partner Vince from Moncton, New Brunswick, three brothers; Martin and Nancy Cyr of Edmundston, New Brunswick, Roger and Louisanne Cyr of Texas, and Carl Cyr of Edmundston, New Brunswick. Marcel was predeceased by two siblings, Joel Cyr, Joan Cyr Levesque.
A grave side service will be held at the Living Hope Cemetery in St. David, on Saturday, September 14 at 11:00 am.
