Mary Ann Michaud Obituary

FRENCHVILLE, ME - Mary Ann (Landry) Michaud, 72, passed away surrounded by family on November 24, 2022 in St. Agatha, Maine.  Mary was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick on July 20, 1950, the daughter of Arthur “Babe” and Irma (Bouchard) Landry.

Mary is survived by her daughter Tonya Michaud, Tonya’s companion Andrew Marquis, and the gems of her life, grandsons Tanner and Drew Marquis.  She was their special Memere Snoro. She is also survived by her mother Irma Landry of Madawaska, sister Doris Stevens and Gary of Fort Kent, brother Louis Landry and Joyce of Madawaska, brother Robert Landry of Madawaska, along with five nieces: Sarah Landry, Nika Day and Lee, Heather Huston and Chris, Amelia Stoliker and Brent, Abby Stevens and Kyle, and one nephew Jake Stevens and Jay; great-nieces and great-nephews Levi and Emma Day, Drake and Brynn Huston, Grant and Myles Stoliker, Janelle and Jade Stevens.  Mary was predeceased by her father Babe, sister Charlene Landry, brother Rino Landry, great-nephew Lucas Day, Tonya’s father Richard (Mitch) Michaud, and her companion Bob Ouellette.

Mary graduated from Wisdom High School, Class of 1968, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Maine at Fort Kent. She was a longtime volunteer on various boards and committees in St. Agatha, and served over two decades as town meeting moderator. Mary was at her best when she was teaching, playing games, and making others laugh. Known as “M&M” to her students, she ran Humpty Dumpty Nursery School in St. Agatha for many years, and then was a preschool teacher for ACAP in Fort Kent. She later coordinated activities for the residents of High View Manor and Crosswinds, brightening the days of many seniors. She will be remembered for her playfulness and fun sense of humor. She loved nothing better than to have her entire extended family over for a home cooked meal followed by games of Charlemagne and Quarante Cinq. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph Memory Care in Frenchville for their hard work and compassion.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10am Thursday, December 22, 2022 at St. Agatha Catholic Church located in St. Agatha.  Relatives and friends may offer condolences at the church from 9 to 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund.
