Muriel (Levesque) Chamberland

It is with a sad and heavy heart that the Chamberland family announces the passing of their beloved mother Muriel (Levesque) Chamberland after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Muriel died peacefully in her home on January 2, 2025, surrounded by family.

Muriel was born on March 6, 1939, daughter of Alfred and Annie (Cote) Levesque of St. David. ME. In the winter of 1958, she met her soon to be husband, Norman Chamberlandand was married on July 29, 1961.  They began their new lives together in New Britain CT, after the birth of their second child Linda; they return to their roots to raise a warm and loving moral family. Muriel and family spent the remainder of their lives in Aroostook County.

She gave birth to five wonderful children and took on the role of a loving mother, homemaker, part time bread winner, and the glue that held the family together.  Norman retired in December of 2003, and both he and Muriel enjoyed spending time gardening, quiet evenings at home and enjoying time with their children; Maurice, Linda, Joel, Larry and Lisa. Sadly, Norman passed away in August 2010.

Muriel is survived by her children and spouses: Maurice & Kris, Linda & Will, Joel & Brenda, Larry & Taylor, and Lisa – as well as six grandchildren: Courtney, Ryan, Jory, Mindy, Tyler, Cody and five great grandchildren: Aleah, Paisley, Colby, Nicolas and Thomas.  Muriel is also survived by her siblings: Armand Levesque, Real Levesque, Bertrand Levesque, and Joel Levesque.
