Muriel (Castonguay) Guerrette

Muriel (Castonguay) Guerrette, 83 passed away peacefully with her family by her side Friday December 5, 2025, at Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent. Muriel was born on August 9, 1942, to parents, Dave & Denise (Daigle) Castonguay in Edmundston, NB Canada.
Muriel attended Our Lady of Wisdom High School class of 1960, and later Eastern Academy of Beauty Culture in Lewiston 1961. She would open her own hair salon in Caribou for several years until a career move with ACAP Headstart and Home Base program, a job she truly enjoyed and cherished for 32 years.
She was a dedicated member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 145 serving as past president. She also was a member of the Fort Kent Columbites Auxiliary
Muriel’s love for music and dance was infectious while her radiant blue eyes and smile could light up a whole room. In her spare time, she loved scrapbooking and making birthday and Christmas cards for her family and friends.
She is predeceased by her parents Dave & Denise (Daigle) Castonguay, twin sister Janelle Castonguay, and two sons Daniel and Douglas Guerrette. She is survived by her son David Guerrette, daughter Lee Ann Daigle, siblings Don & Lorette Castonguay; Nicole Behr; Nancy & Tom Gilbert and Gerard & Diane Castonguay. Two granddaughters she truly adored, Lauryn & Tyler Penn and Kristyn Daigle and fiancé Juan Posada and 3 great grandchildren Wesley & Reece Pen & Elyse Posada
We would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph’s Memory Care for the kindness and compassion that was given to our mother during her residency.
Funeral Services will be held in the summer of 2026.
