Rino Chasse

Edmundston, NB

     Rino Chasse, 58, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 28, 2015 after a long battle with Cancer.  He was born March 3, 1957 in Edmundston, N.B. the son of Benoit and Alma (Couturier) Chasse.

     Rino has a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science.  He was a steward of the land, understanding how to achieve rich, healthy soil, keeping conservation efforts in mind for future generations.  He had a trade that began early in his teenage years.  He was a  successful vegetable farmer, selling his produce to the local communities. He welcomed his customers with a warm smile and gentle demeanor.  He  was also a bus driver and custodian in Madawaska for 6 years.  He was a member of the American Legion, Post 145, Frenchville, Maine.

     He is survived by his mother Alma and his beloved wife Ruth Harquail, a daughter April, her husband Steve Rusnack, grandchildren Mason Dumond, Gabrielle Dumond and Isabelle Rusnack.  He is also survived by three brothers, Gerard and his wife Judy of St. Agatha, ME, Roger and his wife Eileen of St. Agatha, ME, Ronald and his wife Joanne of Bristol, CT;  three sisters, Anita and her husband Tom Bava of Naples, FL, Louise and her husband Michael Bither of Freeport, ME, and Therese and her husband Gaetan Rossignol of St. Agatha, ME, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.   He was predeceased by his father Benoit and brother Yvon Chasse.

     Calling hours will be at Michaud Funeral Home in St. Agatha on Tuesday, March 31 from 6:00-8:00pm.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated  at 10:00am on Wednesday, April 1 at the St. Agatha Catholic Church with Reverend Jim Plourde presiding.  Burial will be at the Maine Veteran Cemetery in Caribou in the Spring.
