RITA MAE (ROY) MORNEAULT, 60, Frenchville, Maine
Rita Morneault of Frenchville, Maine passed away on 07/12/2014 at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania after a 7 month battle with lung cancer. She had just turned 60 years old.
Rita was born on June 5th 1954 in Fort Kent, Maine to Leonide and Alma Roy of Daigle. She was the 2nd of 4 children. She, along with her brothers Bert, Roger and Lucien grew up in Daigle, Maine by Black Lake and later near Daigle Pond. She was married on September 1st, 1972 to Rosaire J. Morneault at Holy Family Church in Daigle, Maine. She was a devoted employee of County Physical Therapy in both Madawaska and Fort Kent where she had worked for over 13 years. She considered them her second family.
Rita enjoyed scrapbooking, walking, feeding / watching birds on her porch, cooking, and most of all gathering with family and friends. She loved celebrating with both her Roy and Morneault siblings and made a point to attend as many family functions as possible. She cherished every get-together and the associated memories. No holiday was complete until she ensured that all her family had been brought together to celebrate.
Rita is survived by her devoted husband, Rosaire Morneault of almost 42 years. He was by her side throughout the duration of her battle with cancer, many times spending weeks at a time, away from home, in Philadelphia at CTCA. Her three children whom she so was extremely proud of: Her eldest son, Keith Morneault of Barrington, NH. Keela (Morneault) Gagnon and son-in-law Jason Gagnon of Madawaska, Maine. And her youngest daughter Stacie Morneault of Biddeford, Maine. She had two grandchildren, Evan and Brandon Gagnon whom she loved dearly. She adored her youngest brother Bert Roy and his family (wife Kathy, daughter Katelyn, son Jason, his wife Jenna and their son Landon). She is also survived by her two handicapped brothers, Roger and Lucien of Fort Kent. She spent many years since her parents passing taking care of these special brothers, treating them with the utmost respect and dignity.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday July 18, 2014 at Michaud Funeral Home in Frenchville from 6-8pm and 8:30am. on Saturday till time of services. A memorial service will be celebrated at 10:00am at the St. Luce Catholic Church with the Rev. James Plourde officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Edgar J.
