Roger Doucette

Roger Doucette of Grand Isle passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on August 5, 2024 at Cary Medical Center in Caribou Maine.  He was born in Grand Isle on August 6, 1951 to Leo and Annie (Lizotte) Doucette.

He was married to his high school sweetheart of 51 years, Judy (Bechard) Doucette on April 27th, 1973 and had one daughter, Kim Doucette Kempton (spouse Shaun Kempton) of South Portland, Maine.

After graduating high school, Roger moved to East Hartford, Connecticut to begin a career in construction and drywall alongside his brother Harold.  Once returning to Maine in 1979, he continued his work in construction and drywall for Ouellet Construction, previously of Madawaska, Maine.

Roger was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, spending lots of time riding around backroads and looking for wildlife, he also enjoyed reading western novels.  He took pride in volunteering for the Grand Isle Fire Department in his younger years and celebrated being a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus.

His wife Judy, daughter Kim, along with husband Shaun Kempton, survives him.  Also surviving are siblings Juanita Bouchard of Van Buren, Guy Doucette (Constance) of St. David, Harold (Marie) of East Hartford, Conn, Linda (Gaetan) Martin of Plainville, Conn, Ronald of Bristol, Conn, sister in law Paula Nauta of South Windsor, Conn as well as several nieces and nephews.

His parents along with siblings Lorraine Theriault and Gerald Doucette precede him in death.

A special and sincere Thank you goes out to the ICU team at Cary Medical Center for their deep compassionate care over the last couple of weeks.

There will be visitation hours from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 8th at the Michaud Funeral Home in St. Agatha, Maine

A Celebration of Life will be in Grand Isle, Maine at the St Gerard Catholic Church on Friday, August 9th at 10:00 am.
