Frenchville– Roland J. Pelletier, 78, of St. Luce Parish died September 22, 2014 in Van Buren. Born in Frenchville on December 31, 1936 Roland was the son of Eddie and Marie(Cyr) Pelletier. Survived by his wife Therese (Terry) Ouellette of 49 years, Son Philip & Robin Pelletier of Tewksbury, MA & daughter Janis & Matthew Hayes of Croton-on-Hudson NY and six grandchildren (Emily, Kevin, Josh, Matt, Jake & Lauren). Roland is also survived by two brothers Lionel and Camille of CT, six sisters, Cecille, Prescilla, Rita and Theresa of CT , Marie Rose of VT and Irene of Madawaska. He is predeceased by sister Lucille, CT and brothers Rosaire, George, Adelein and Claude of Madawaska.
Roland grew up on the family farm on Pelletier Road in Frenchville later moving to CT where he would meet his wife Terry also of Frenchville.. Moving back to Frenchville years later to start his own business, Aroostook Chrome Company where he worked for years before eventually being hired to and retiring from Fraser Paper. Many people from the valley came to their home on Star Barn Avenue for Spring Water which Roland made available to everyone all year long.
An avid ATV rider ,collector of all things John Deere, space enthusiasts and toy maker.. Roland had many hobbies but none more precious than crafting wooden toys and machining model rockets for his kids and grandchildren. He was a true lover of the space program it was not unlike him to set his alarm in the middle of the night so he could view the space shuttle or satellites traveling the midnight sky. Their will be no calling hours, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Friday Sept. 26, at the St. Luce Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Ouellette officiating.
