Ronald R. Chassé
Madawaska, ME
Ronald “Péa” Chassé died at home peacefully on September 16, 2023, at the age of 81. He was born in St. Agatha, Maine on July 3, 1942, son of Péa Z. Chassé and Rosa Labbé.
Ron was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His family was his life. He was a social butterfly talking to everyone he met. You could easily find him at Tim Hortons or Valley Fuel chatting away and drinking coffee and maybe having a few sweet treats, without his wife knowing but she always found out.
He started at a very young age working on the family potato farm. He then went to work as a mechanic at Acadia Motors. In 1964, he met the love of his life, Rina Bossé, and they got engaged in the “junk” yard at Acadia Motors. She should have envisioned her life with Ron and his “jewelry”, especially his infatuation with Ford tractors. They got married on July 3, 1965. He continued to have multiple jobs, then in 1973 he opened Ron’s Garage. After selling his business in 1989, he started work at Fraser Papers and retired in 2003. For the next 10 years, he became a sexton for the St. David Church and worked for Michaud’s Funeral Home.
He was an avid church goer and volunteered at the church. He was involved with the Madawaska Fire Department for 25 years and was a member of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus in Madawaska.
He leaves in sorrow but also with wonderful memories his loving wife of 58 years, Rina Bossé Chassé, his children Tina (Sidney) Chassé Plate, Peggy (Kevin) Chassé Ruest and 5 grandchildren: Alexander and his fiancée Valerie Boisvert, Benjamin and his fiancée Rebecca Boisvert, Chloé, Emma, and David. He also leaves behind his sister, Claudette Boucher and was predeceased by his parents and 13 siblings.
The family of Mr. Ronald Chassé will welcome relatives and friends starting at 9:30 a.m. Friday, September 22 at St. David Church. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00 at St. David Church, St. David, Maine.
