Sister Annette Picard Obituary


Sister Annette Picard, 97 died peacefully Nov. 2, 2013 at a Frenchville Health Center.  She was born May 1, 1916 in Grand Isle, Maine, the daughter of Vital and Delia (Picard) Picard. She made profession on February 2, 1935 in Ottawa, Canada. (Sr. Lucille du Rosaire)  A Daughter of Wisdom for 78 years her ministry was permeated by the Wisdom she professed. Her ministry was one of community service. She was an accomplished seamstress and she adapted readily to the people and the needs around her. She served in Ottawa, Canada, Brooklyn and Long Island, New York, Portsmouth, Virginia and St. Agatha, Maine. She always remembered fondly taking care of the babies as a certified Nurses Aid in St. Charles Hospital. Retiring in September 1990 she returned to St. Agatha and was at the service of the Church and the St Agatha community. Her hobby was reading and doing needlepoint. Sr. Annette was always gracious and grateful for whatever service others rendered her.  She is survived by three sisters Connie Lachance, Frenchville, Maine, Gloria Lajoie, Baker Brook, NB, Canada, Jackie Orme Elk Rapids, Michigan, a brother-in-law Lionel Lajoie in Lac Baker, NB and several nephews and nieces. She is also survived by her Sisters in community, The Daughters of Wisdom.  She was predeceased by her parents, four brothers Lionel, Conrad, Roland, Leo James and nine sisters Irene Eldridge, Germaine Buckner, Simone Benette, Fernande Hebert, Rachel Stevens, Gilberte Picard, Louise Perry, Cecile Clavette and Sr. Lucille Picard D.W.  Friends & Relatives may call at Michaud Funeral Home in St. Agatha Wednesday Nov. 6, 2013 8:30am. to 9:45am until time of Services.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Wednesday Nov. at the St. Agatha Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Plourde & Rev. Kent Ouellette Officiating.  Burial in the Daughter of Wisdom Cemetery.  For those who desire, donations can be made in her Memory to the Long Lake Public Library.
