Tom Chamberland Obituary

Tom Chamberland

Hampden, Maine

Tom ‘Hawkeye’ Chamberland, 57 of Hampden passed away unexpectedly January 18, 2017 doing what he loved and had done all of his life…driving a tractor trailer.  He was born in St. Agatha on July 17, 1959 to Bertille and Jean Paul Chamberland.

Tom is survived by his wife of 33 years Pete (Helen) Chamberland, his children:  Peter, Paul, Nicole and Alexandria, granddaughter Lilly, mother Bertille (Bea) Chamberland Beaulieu, brothers: Jean and wife Anne, Bill, Phil (cook) and wife Missy, Pete and wife Cindy. Sisters: Lou and husband Claude, Sue, Tessie, Patty and husband Mike, Sandy and husband Dave. 3 step brothers Tom, Matt, John and wife Leslie, and his extended family and brothers of the Exiles MC.

He was predeceased by father Jean Paul Chamberland, step father Roland Beaulieu, brother in law Paul Sirois.

Tom was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to so many including his extensive list of trucking buddies.  He worked very hard to support his family and in addition to being very proud of them, he was most proud of his career of being an owner/operator for over 35 years.

Quoting from his favorite song ‘Truckin’ by the Grateful Dead, “Sometimes the lights all shinin’ on me, other times I can barely see.  Lately it occurs to me….what a long strange trip it’s been” and such was Tom’s life that he lived to the fullest.

Your last load has been delivered, no more log books, no more scales to go around, you’re in the hammer lane on the highway to heaven. RIP our love.

Following Tom’s wishes, there will be a Catholic Mass at Our Lady of the Valley in St. Agatha on Saturday January 28, 2017 at 10:00am. Condolences may be shared with the famly from 8:30 to time of funeral at Our Lady of the Valley Church.
