Viola Dionne
Viola Dionne passed away peacefully on January 27, 2017 at the age of 89 at a Health Care Facility in Garden Grove, California. Viola was the daughter of Patrick and Cecile (Ouellette) Marquis from Connecticut. She was born on March 30, 1927 in St. Agatha, Maine. She was an American Legion Auxiliary in Frenchville for 65 years and worked as a caregiver at the St. Joseph nursing home in Frenchville and as a cook at Dr. Levesque elementary school for many years. She enjoyed cooking, solving jigsaw puzzles, playing card games and collecting ashtrays!
She is survived by seven sons, two daughters and their spouses, John, Michael & Veronica, Robert & Francisca, Philip & Sandy, Brian & Karen, Charles & Tina , Garold & Louise, all residing in California; Geraldine & Jean Louis Bosse of St. Jacques and Nancy Michaud & Gerry Raymond of Edmundston, New Brunswick; and one daughter in law, Nicole Dionne from California. Viola also has 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one brother, Joel, five sisters, Sylvia, Roland, Lucille, Therese and Patricia. She was predeceased by her husband Gerard, her son Louis, her daughter Joan and her brother David Marquis.
Visiting hours will be Saturday, June 24 between the hours of 9:00AM and 10:00AM at the St. Luce Church in Frenchville. Fathers Kent Ouellette and James Manship will be presiding over the memorial service. The burial will take place at the St. Luce Cemetery in Frenchville immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations to Memory Care at St. Joseph nursing facility and the St. Luce church for much needed repairs.
