Wilfred Dufour, 74, passed away June 7, 2021, at home, surrounded by family. He was born in Frenchville, ME on July 2, 1946 the son of Wallace and Emelia ‘Lagasse’ Dufour.
After graduating from Madawaska high school Wilfred entered the Army. He served in Vietnam and Germany from 1968-1983. After his years of service to this country he worked in Lewiston. Wilfred was a member of the American Legion in Frenchville and Madawaska. He loved family gatherings, being with friends and known for his huge smile on his face. His nicknames were ‘Smiley and Frenchy’.
He is survived by five brothers; Fern and his wife Rinette of CT, Norman of Frenchville, Ronald and his wife Terry, Gary and Vernon, all of CT. Six sisters; Theresa Plourde of CT, Marilyn Blais-husband Don of Dover-Foxcroft, ME, Pauline Guerrette-husband Reginald of St. Agatha, Diane Dionne-husband George of Grand Isle, Carol Chamberland-husband Robert of St. Agatha, Linda Ayotte-husband Roland of St. Agatha, children: Jeremy, Justin, and Tammy, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers Roger and Roland and one brother-in-law Philip Plourde.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 15 at 10:00am at St. Luce Catholic Church, Frenchville. Friends and Family may give their condolences to the family from 9:30am until time of service. Burial will be at the Veteran Cemetery in Caribou, ME.
