William Warner Obituary

Kittery, Maine

William “Bill” O. Warner, of Kittery, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, with his daughters by his side, at the age of 78 after a courageous battle with cancer. Despite the life changing challenges and pain, Bill came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. He was a caring, loving, and devoted husband, father, brother, pepere, and friend.

Bill was born on October 28, 1946, in Presque Isle, Maine to Ovila and Mildred (Foster) Warner. He met his wife Linda (Collins) Warner when he used to attend the Boy’s Camp in Sinclair, and they married on November 9, 1967. He enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served during the Vietnam War.  After being honorably discharged, he then continued his career in the Army National Guard for another 12 years, as well as, working for New Britain Machine, until it closed, and he then moved onto Sherri Cup in Connecticut.

In 1986, Bill and Linda decided to move their family from Connecticut to Sinclair, where he continued his career working for Loring Air Force Base, until its closure. At that point he began a new and rewarding career as a school bus driver until he retired.

Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, bowling, and watching his favorite sports teams, the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox, as well. You could always count on Bill calling his son-in-law Allen Gervais and grandson Chance to discuss the games, whether it be bad or good. He was particularly fond of attending all his grandchildren's athletic games and proudly cheered them on. He also had a special place in his heart for all his beloved fur babies to include Tiffany, Angel, and especially Toby.

In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brothers Gordon and Carroll. He is survived by his wife Linda; daughter’s, Kimberly Esancy; Jennifer Gervais and husband Allen; Tammy Warner and partner Scott Michaud; sister’s, Debbie Carney Longley and Beryl Warner Hewitt; grandchildren,, Evan Esancy; Mackenzie (Esancy) Cote and husband Tyler; Shania (Gervais) Beaulieu and husband Jeremy, Chance Gervais; great-grandchildren Easton Esancy Cote; Ensley and Amelia Beaulieu, and Elias Gervais, and many brother and sister in-laws, and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Beacon Hospice for their outstanding and compassionate care of their loved one.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Northern Maine Veteran’s Cemetery, Caribou Maine.
